In Russia, innovative electric motors are in the final stage of development, which are three times smaller and lighter than the current ones.
Domestic manufacturers from St. Petersburg plan to start production of new engines with improved performance. This was announced by the head of the Electromoment project, the general director of EME Laboratory LLC Mikhail Esakov. In this article, we will talk about improved electric motors and their potential.
Another important aspect is, of course, import substitution. At least 80% of the entire structure is domestically developed, in particular, the control system. Other features include a splined hollow shaft with interchangeable flange adapters, and liquid-cooled and air-cooled configurations.
Application of Russian servomotors
Smart motors are in demand in areas such as robotics and mechatronics. The development of specialized sEMs started several years ago, and the first pilot models were presented in 2021. The current developments are approaching the final stage. A sample of the latest version will be presented as early as 2023, and this event will mark the beginning of a new technological era.
According to Mikhail Esakov, today almost all servomotors on the international market are too large and unreasonably expensive. Models of the Russian project, on the contrary, will be deprived of these shortcomings, which means that they can compete with both other domestic and foreign counterparts.
Thus, Russia aims to make a technological revolution and bring to the market a fundamentally new type of servomotors. Specific characteristics have not yet been published, this is probably to be expected after the official release of the series. So we will follow the developments and keep you informed.
